Rats in Wigan

If you have been following the news you may have come across a story in the Mirror about rats in a council house in Wigan (Greater Manchester, UK).

Mum of three, Rebecca Asquith council house had been suffering from a rat infestation for some time.

Tired of how the council was responding to the problem, Rebecca took to social media and shared the evidence she had collected hoping to draw attention to her plight.

This included photos and most shocking of all actual video of a rat running around the toilet. (possible entering the property through the toilet itself).

The council later made a public response saying:

“Our pest control team have made numerous visits to the property and have identified a number of issues which are contributing to the rat problem which has now escalated, including problems with drains, large household items stored in the garden which have allowed the rats to nest also a number of food sources have now been identified”.

The news report is an interesting read for anyone into pest control or has a rat problem themselves.
